Principali considerazioni:
Novembre ha mostrato il medesimo tasso di crescita dei mesi precedenti, cioe +13%, cioe’ 42m in Novembre e 270m nei primi 11 mesi dell’anno. Andamento migliore del resto dei vini che sono cresciuti di meno del 3% nel mese e del 6.5% negli 11 mesi;
I volumi continuano a crescere di oltre il 20%, come nei mesi precedenti;
il prezzo mix di conseguenza mostra un deterioramento di circa il 9%, leggermente superiore al 7.6% del resto dei vini.

Key trends:
In November the growth rate was similar to previous months, with a 13% increase of exports in Euro, for about 42m in November and 270m in the first 11 months. This performance is by far better than 3% shown for the other wines in November and +6.5% for the rest of the year.
volumes continued to rise by over 20% in November, matching the performance of the previous months. As a result, the mix worsened by 9%, slightly more than the 7.6% deterioratoin of the rest of the wines.

Terza puntata sugli spumanti dedicata alla denominazione Asti Spumante, di cui riparleremo per guardare un po alle rese per ettaro e alla concentrazione dei produttori, che e’ chiaramente la piu’ rilevante in termini di volumi. Sempre dati ISMEA, ma questa volta parliamo di ettolitri e non di bottiglie. Dunque, di Asti se ne produce sempre di meno, siamo passati dai 600-700mila hl degli anni 90 ai 500-550mila degli ultimi anni. Quindi un calo del 15% circa sull’intero periodo 1995-2005, che corrisponde a una erosione dell’1.7% annuo.

We now review the Asti Spumante denomination, which will be the subject of another post on production concentration. According to ISMEA (be careful, we now switch to hectolitres vs. previous bottles), the production is in costand decline in the past years, from 600-700k hl in the Nineties to the 500-550k in the last years. Therefore, we calculate a 15% reduction on the entire 1995-2005 period, which implies a yearly erosion of 1.7%.
